Dear YOBC Community,
Like you, the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County has had to learn new ways of doing things in these challenging times. We have missed working with our students at rehearsals, but we have remained committed to keeping the music going and ‘growing’ by finding new ways of supporting and encouraging our students’ musical and personal growth. Since March, we have provided 12 interactive webinars to help our students build their music skills in the safety of their homes. We will continue to provide webinars and other creative opportunities for young musicians throughout the summer. Especially now, we want to help our students continue to grow, dream and hope for bright futures, to feel connected to their world and be part of something bigger than themselves. As we look towards an uncertain future, we embrace the challenge of creating new paths to provide support and opportunities for our students.
The music plays on at YOBC, but today we are coming to you with a special request for your help. The coronavirus pandemic has caused cancellation of rehearsals, concerts and our tour and has had a serious financial impact on YOBC. We realize that you may also be facing financial challenges. If possible at this time, we ask that you consider making a contribution to help support YOBC through this difficult challenge.
The power of music to transform lives and build community is more relevant now than ever, and we want to continue to be here for our students.
YOBC is first and foremost a community. Like the community we serve, we are strong and resilient. We look forward to seeing our students next fall and to celebrating YOBC’s 30th Anniversary season with a great year of rehearsals, concerts, master classes, tours, and music-making.
